What is announcement?

An announcement is a statement made to the public or to the media which gives information about something that has happened or that will happen.

The social function of Announcement:

To make a formal written notice of certain events which has happened or going to happen

Examples:

ANNOUNCEMENT To : All Department Managers A meeting will be held to discuss the customer’s complain this afternoon Jan , 4th 2017 at 01 p.m. in the meeting room. Please bring along the necessary documents. Thank you
